German environment minister, Norbert Rötgen: “Senat der Wirtschaft has achieved international reputation”.

As official member of the international Conference of the environment ministers, Prof. Rademacher has launched the “Welt Walt Klima Initative” – World Forest Foundation  - from “Senat der Wirtschaft”. This project will organize reafforestation with highest ecological and social standards. Companies and Organizations will get involved and support the efforts of the countries. 20 Mio. € investments are announced for 2012, the goals are way above that mark though.

 

At the conference the initiative of the Senat has been seen as exemplary and gained a high attentiveness from the ministers of several states, the world bank and from business representatives. The chairman, environment minister Röttgen, claimed it to be a great success and welcomed the fact, that not only politicians were present, but also economists. The goals of the Welt Walt Klima Initiative – World Forest Foundation, will also be transferred into concrete action in other states. After the conference in Bonn it is now decided, that the Senat will enforce a partnership between states, who will supply land and legal security, and companies, who will invest into the forest.

 

Notably for the observer of the conference was, that most participants shared the opinion, that trough the initiative of the Senat for the first time a worldwide controlled implementation for reafforestation is possible. The chairman of the Senat der Wirtschaft Dieter Härthe explained that the forest restoration will start immediately with practical realization. The Welt Walt Klima Initative has started.
